Ruth DeBusk Interview
Ruth DeBusk, PhD, RD, represents the future of dietetics. Dr. DeBusk not only has her Ph.D in nutrition and food science, but also in genetics and molecular biology. She is a clinical dietitian and geneticist in private practice in Tallahassee, Florida. She uses genetic analysis to help tailor nutrition interventions for her clients.
Ruth is a strong proponent of using functional medicine principles in designing nutritional interventions for her clients, using medical nutrition therapy as the base and integrating functional approaches and genetic analysis.
Ruth speaks often on nutritional genomics, known as nutrigenomics, and is the author of Genetics: The Nutrition Connection, which is available through ADA, and a new book for the lay person entitled, It’s not Just your Genes!
What I especially liked about Ruth’s interview is she emphasizes that we all really can accomplish anything, as long as we are determined and don’t give up!
