Diana Bright, MS, RD, CCN

This month’s Professional of the Month is Diana Bright, MS, RD, CCN. Diana has a private practice, Bright Nutrition Solutions, LLC, based out of Golden, Colorado. Not only is Diana a Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist through the CNCB, but she is also a Certified Leap Therapist through Signet, offering MRT counseling for people who suffer from delayed non-IgE food sensitivities.

Diana incorporates functional nutrition, integrative medicine and alternative care into her practice, where she sees a variety of clients, from people suffering from stress, diabetes, and weight control issues. She is most interested in understanding how the underlying causes of ill health can be addressed with nutrition and supplemental support.

Nancy Collins, PhD, RD, LD/N

This month’s edition of the Professional of the Month interviews features Dr. Nancy Collins, PhD, RD, LD/N.

Nancy is a registered dietitian/licensed nutritionist in private practice based out of South Florida. Nancy has 20 years of experience in foodservice management, clinical nutrition and consulting to health care institutions.

She is the founder and president of www.RD411.com, an online resource for healthcare professionals. RD411 provides free and easily accessible materials to healthcare providers so they can spend more time improving patient care and less time trying to reinventing the wheel. Visitors can download, modify and distribute all available materials for free.

Dr. Collins is nationally known as a medico-legal expert, dealing with such issues as malnutrition, wound healing and unintended weight loss in nursing home patients and she has served as an expert witness in over 400 legal matters.

Nancy is also a frequent speaker at medical education symposia and prolific author. She is the past president of the Florida Dietetic Assoc, and is the current Florida Delegate to the Am. Dietetic Assoc. In 2003, Nancy was awarded the Dietitian of the Year award for her longstanding contributions to the profession of nutrition.

One of Nancy’s main messages to listeners is that there is more than enough work out there for everyone who wishes to start up their own business. You just need to be creative, assertive and know how to go after what you want!
