Linda Eck Mills

With a passion for non-traditional areas of professional practice and expertise in adult learning techniques, this month’s edition of the Professional of the Month interview series features Linda Eck Mills, MBA, RD, LDN, FADA. Linda has been involved food service and education for over 30 years and owns Dynamic Communication Services where she is a professional speaker and freelance writer. In addition, her current roles include director and instructor in the Dietary Manager Program at a community college and instructor for the Youthful Offender Program inside a state correctional facility; consulting dietitian for hospice and long term care.

As a speaker, Linda has a national reputation for using common objects to get a point across and gives her audiences and students “Confidence”. She has self-published a book on this topic – From Mundane to Ah Ha! – Effective Training Objects and is more recently a contributor to the Trainer’s Warehouse Book of Games, which also focuses on the use of objects in training.

Linda is a charter Fellow of the American Dietetic Association, has memberships in the National Speakers Association, the American Society for Training and Development, and numerous dietetic and food service related organizations. Among Linda’s awards are Outstanding Dietitian of Pennsylvania and the Innovator Award - Central PA Dietetic Association. She has published over 170 articles in professional and trade publications and has authored two books, co-authored two books and contributed to two books.
