Jim Labadie, CSCS
Jim Labadie, CSCS graduated from the University of Delaware in 1994 with a degree in Fitness Management. While working on his degree, he also successfully obtained his CSCS certification through NSCA. However, he knew early that he didn’t want to move onto the traditional next step, which was to become an assistant strength coach.
Jim believes strongly in two things: 1) do what you love to do, and 2) when you do what you love, you are living your life’s purpose.
After graduation, he ended up working for a company in a tech support position for three years, which was NOT his life’s purpose!
From there, he started working in a personal training studio, living the typical life of a personal trainer, working early mornings and late nights. But he was living in New Jersey, dealing with the awful winters and just making a living. He was closer to his life’s purpose; at least he was doing something he loved! But he felt there was something else out there for him.
Jim then moved to Tampa, Florida and started his own in-home fitness coaching firm, quickly expanding to hiring other trainers to work for him, while he focused on building the business. In April 2003, he met Ryan Lee and so began Train and Grow Rich, a coaching business to help fitness professionals create incredibly profitable businesses. Today he helps other fitness professionals live their own life purposes and enjoy great success along the way.
Jim’s biggest piece of advice Jim had for those considering business ownership is to learn the internet. He is a great example in what he does, today, and you can learn more by visiting his sites.
